Shashank's Digital Certificate
Following my recent brush with spammers spoofing as if their junk mail were sent ”from” me, I am now sending all my email with a digital certificate.
Depending on how you read your email, this certificate may show up as an attachment, usually with the file name "smime.p7s" of the type “application/x-pkcs7-signature”. (Most modern email readers such as Microsoft Outlook or Eudora will automatically show it as a small certificate icon to avoid confusion with regularly attached files.)
Either way, you can safely ignore this certificate file, it is merely a sign of the authenticity of the sender; it confirms that the email was indeed sent by me. If you receive a mail from shanx@shanx.com without this certificate, please exercise your good judgment in opening it up.
Thanks,
Shashank
